October saw the return of the Nissan GT-R, After 5 months of its absence, scoring maximum points on its return. i would normally write a few paragraphs about my race but it was really uneventful.
The initial draw saw me dead last at the start, a position i was hoping i could improve long before RoboRed and the Ford GT got into an early lead. Luckily (for me at least) some pace lap calamity lead to an early restart which saw an almost full reversal of the grid. This time pole position in class was taken by Ray0241 on his Endurance series debut, followed by the GT-R in second place, an unfortunate Robo was at the rear of the field.
From here the race was smooth sailing, apart from avoiding a spinning drivebyhater after contact with the tyres in turn 12, and the frequently passing LMP traffic, until around 50 minutes in, an incident led to the pace car being called out and the field bunching up for the restart., this time with Robo right behind the GT-R, the restart was smooth with the Ford GT putting up a strong fight for multiple laps before a minor off allowed the GT-R to pull out a big enough gap that the Ford couldn’t close before the timer ran out.
The championship battles have closed up in both classes, with Mackleroys win in LMP closing his gap to series leader, CoreyCC97, to only 22 points. And RoboRed’s lead in GT being dropped to only 3 points.
Congratulations to Chevrolet, who have already wrapped up the GT constructors championship, with the majority of the points coming from Tellerium and his C7.R
