A lot of us have talked about it during races and practice. So, let’s get the ball rolling with open discussion about a V8 Supercars series I’d like to host later this year. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Cars and Upgrades:
#5 Pepsi Max Crew PRA Falcon FG X
#17 Xbox Racing Ford Falcon FG X
#14 Freightliner Racing VF Commodore
#97 Tekno Autosports VF Commodore
#1 Red Bull Racing Australia VF Commodore
#22 Holden Racing Team VF Commodore
#4 Erebus Motorsport E63 AMG V8 Supercar
#9 Erebus Motorsport E63 AMG V8 Supercar
#23 Nissan Motorsport Altima
#33 Wilson Security Racing GRM S60
All cars will be upgraded with race brakes, race driveline, and full tire width both front and back. Any additional upgrades will be dependent on the race track*. Tuning is legal and highly encouraged. No Storefront tunes.
Proposed Race Tracks and Distances:
Suggestions for alternative tracks are appreciated, but keep in mind that V8 Supercars runs both road courses and street circuits. Shame we only have one track in Australia.
Circuit of the Americas West Route
Long Beach Full Circuit
Daytona Intl Speedway Tri-Oval Circuit* (night)
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (day)
Silverstone International Circuit (rain)
Rio de Janeiro National Circuit
Mount Panorama Bathurst Circuit
The races will be done by a lap distance, with 50-75 miles for the street circuits and 100-150 for the road courses. Bathurst will be the longest race.
Race Day Information:
We’ll continue the trend that seems to be working for most people, of a Saturday afternoon race between 4:00 and 4:30 EST
Grid Order and Start Procedure:
Grids will be random order unless there is a desire to do qualifying or by season points. Due to the twitchy nature of the V8 Supercars, we will perform rolling starts.
Race Behavior and Damage:
Driver Aids are legal. Proper driver etiquette is required. Anyone found to or believed to be intentionally crashing opponents will be penalized by loss of finishing position and/or points.
Damage, fuel and tire wear will be set to cosmetic.
